Background. In the face of growing global social challenges, contemporary societies are increasingly confronted with ethical dilemmas that challenge traditional norms of meaning and human agency. These issues are often intensified by rapid technological advancements, globalization, and cultural shifts. As a result, it has become imperative to explore the relationship between ethics, meaning, and human agency in the context of modern social challenges.

Purpose. This research aims to examine the philosophical foundations of ethics and human agency in relation to contemporary social issues, with a focus on how these concepts shape individuals’ actions and decision-making processes in today’s complex world.

Method. This study employs a qualitative, philosophical analysis, utilizing an interdisciplinary approach that integrates ethics, philosophy of mind, and sociology. A literature review was conducted to critically engage with key philosophical texts and contemporary social theories that address the interconnections between ethics, meaning, and human agency.

Results. The findings reveal that traditional ethical frameworks are increasingly challenged by modern technological, social, and economic transformations. However, new ethical paradigms are emerging, emphasizing personal responsibility, autonomy, and collective action in shaping future social systems.

Conclusion. The study concludes that while contemporary social challenges present complex ethical issues, there is a need for a dynamic philosophical approach that redefines human agency in response to these changes, ultimately fostering more inclusive and responsible societies.
