Focus and Scope

Focus and Scope of the Journal of Selvicoltura Asean

The Journal of Selvicoltura Asean aims to advance forest science through the integration of innovation, indigenous ecological knowledge, and climate-resilient strategies, with a primary focus on tropical forest systems. The journal promotes interdisciplinary approaches that connect ecological sustainability, technological innovation, and community engagement to address contemporary forest challenges across diverse geographical contexts.

While the journal maintains a strong interest in tropical forests, particularly within Southeast Asia, it welcomes contributions from all regions of the world that offer conceptual, empirical, or comparative insights relevant to tropical and global forest systems.

We invite empirical, theoretical, and policy-oriented submissions that address, but are not limited to:

  • Climate-resilient silviculture and ecosystem-based adaptation
  • Community-based forest governance and indigenous forest management systems
  • Remote sensing, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies for forest monitoring
  • Ethnoforestry and indigenous ecological knowledge (IEK)
  • Forest-based livelihoods, resilience, and environmental justice
  • Forest degradation, reforestation, and ecological restoration
  • Urban forestry and green infrastructure
  • Forest policy, economics, and legal frameworks

Submissions that provide comparative perspectives, cross-regional analysis, or transferable models are particularly encouraged. Studies focusing on Southeast Asia and Indonesia are highly valued for their contextual depth and contribution to global forest science discourse.
